Which clinics to avoid anastassakis hair clinic

You should be very careful about hair transplant “clinics “ that:

The doctor / clinic is not willing to answer your questionnaire.

Indication of a doctor who does not respect the patient enough or has something to hide.

They use NON-MEDICAL staff (sales people) to decide if hair transplant is needed, namely salespeople decide if someone is appropriate or inappropriate for Hair Transplant.

Demand a consultation with a doctor who will give you written information about your needs and with what criteria he decides you are eligible to undergo for a Hair Transplant.

Apply ONLY one hair transplant technique and reject some of the modern and well-established FUT or FUE hair transplant techniques without scientific arguments.

This is evidence of a doctor or clinic that does not follow the scientific developments and who bases its practice not on the best treatment but on the “Authority” of the medical status or the name of the clinic.

They show promotional messages for ``unique techniques``, ``best clinic`` awards, titles for ``President of Scientific Societies`` and other tricks.

These are always either irrelevant to the actual level of scientific training, or too much or simply false.

They claim that they apply their own ``inventive`` Hair Transplant technique that offers ``unique results``.

The claim is always false, the scientific knowledge in modern times not only is not hidden, but anyone who discovers something new or better publishes for reasons like popularity and prestige.

They claim that they are ``top`` in Hair Transplant based on how many years they deal with Hair Transplant.

How many years a business is active in a field does not ensure the high quality that is the only factor needed in Hair Transplant.

They refuse to bring you in contact with patients whose alopecia or hair look like yours.

Photos that are often presented are from carefully chosen cases with ideal hair features and often these photographs are altered with Photoshop or other ways. Also, from the pictures the patient cannot know about the complications, the doctor’s behavior, the patient’s discomfort and the number of sessions. And of course he cannot know if those patients’ photos really belong to the doctor he is visiting.

They are not willing to discuss whether another operation will be needed in the future as well as the long-term cost of hair transplant and respond that ``we will see until then``.

Indication that they are based on short-term profit rather than the creation of an honest doctor-patient relationship.

They insist that potential complications such as pain, swelling, transient hair loss after surgery have never occurred to their patients.

They hide the temporary, unpleasant side of the operation, fearing of losing any “client”.

They do not clarify the cost per hair follicle but they insist on talking about the number of hairs.

“Impress” technique in order to make the final charge much cheaper.

They put pressure on the patient to commit to the surgery within a limited timeframe.

According to the Code of Medical Ethics, the practice of putting psychological pressure on a patient is illegal.

They imply that Hair Transplant ``does not leave scars`` or that it is ``painless``.

This wording is false and is a misleading advertisement.

Any doctor whose team members and staff seem to be afraid of him or dislike him.

Indication that the teamwork required to operate a hair transplant does not work properly and the indifference or dislike of associates, especially the technicians, will certainly have negative effects on the patient’s head.

Any doctor who you will not contact in person from the first appointment or at least at the second appointment.

If the patient insists on seeing the doctor and constantly meets a “consultant” this means that the doctor does not take serious the patient.

Any doctor himself or ``salesman`` who makes the patient to ``sign a contract`` soon.

This means that he is based on short-term profit rather than the creation of an honest doctor-patient relationship.

Any doctor who is not registered in the Medical Association in the city where the operations are performed.

Probably he is not even a doctor, ask for a degree in medicine and a specialization title.

Anyone who appears as a doctor and does not show you a Medical School certification and a Medical Specialty Title.

This means that either he is not a doctor or he is an untrained doctor who performs Hair Transplant procedures until he starts his training.

Any doctor who does not answer your questions and just says ``do not worry about this``.

This means that he does not recognize the patient’s right to know the details of an issue which effects will follow him forever.

Any doctor who does not use stereo microscopes for hair follicle preparation and of course any doctor who transplants grafts larger than hair follicles.

This means that this doctor does not follow developments and is not interested in providing the best services to his patients in order to have fewer expenses.

They offer ``guarantees`` about the permanence of the hair transplant result.

This wording is misleading because the permanence of the result is due to the physiology of the hair follicles in the donor area and not in the clinic or the doctor.

They use before and after photos but the photos are not comparable or the shots are not the same.

This practice is misleading and is an attempt to make the final result more appealing.

The above reasons are not all necessarily applied.

Even only one reason is enough to exclude a doctor.

However, because a doctor may forget to report a complication, a new procedure, because he thinks that the patient can not appreciate some details, or because he has a very limited schedule, it does not mean that this doctor should not be given any opportunity with some issues that have not been answered yet.

But when it is obvious that despite all the questions and the “opportunities”, the doctor insists and does not treat the patient equally and with respect, then the patient must immediately leave his clinic.

This doctor either does not know how to answer the questions or does not respect the patient.

If the doctor does not know how to answer, there is no need to explain why the patient should continue to seek for a better professional.

If, on the other hand, the doctor does not respond while he knows, then the patient is not treated with respect, understanding, interest and patience.

And if he is behaving like that before surgery and before all financial transactions, just think of what will his behavior be after the payment and after signing the contract that exempts the doctor of any responsibility!
